10-year-old Haughton Boy Wounded in Machete Accident

A 10-year-old Haughton boy is recovering from a machete accident that happened Wednesday afternoon.

Bossier sheriff's deputies say the boy was playing in the woods about 100 or 200 yards behind his house in the 600 block of Haughton Trace Court, when he accidentally stabbed himself.

He was taken to University Health in Shreveport, where he underwent surgery. He's said to be doing well today.
