Adele and producer Paul Epworth captured the award for Song of the Year for ‘Rolling in the Deep’ tonight at the 2012 Grammy Awards.

Neil Patrick Harris announced the award, which is presented to the songwriters. Adele took the stage chewing gum — is that part of her new regimen to keep her voice strong? — and credited Epworth in her acceptance speech, saying, “He’s the best producer in the world. He’s wonderful. He brought me out of my skin to write this record.”

Epworth briefly thanked Adele for having such a great voice and making his job easy.

‘Rolling in the Deep’ beat ‘All of the Lights’ by Kanye West and Rihanna, ‘Grenade’ by Bruno Mars, ‘The Cave’ by Mumford & Sons, and ‘Holocene’ by Bon Iver. Song of the Year was the fourth award of the day for Adele, who also won Best Short Form Music Video, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance earlier in the evening.
