Good news for some local museums that have been facing serious budget cuts.

Three Shreveport historical museums were set to be closed at the end of 2016, but they have new life.

The Shreveport Times reports that the museums have been granted approval to stay open through February.

The Spring Street Museum; the Shreveport Water Works museum; and the Shreveport Railroad Museum will now have extra time to stay open, but the museums will have to cover operating costs.

There is a January 26th fundraiser to benefit all three museums.
