Easily my favorite story of all time.

So today I was on Twitter when I realized a certain phrase was trending. I loomed down and saw "Boaty McBoatface" in the trending section. You can't see something so funny and random and not click it. When I clicked, I found the funniest story ever.

The Natural Environment Research Council over in the UK decided to build a $300 million polar research boat. This boat is state of the art and deserves a name that fits it's stature. The NERC decided to give that power to the internet, which is rarely a good decision. The internet unleashed and came through with something truly great.

The agency gave internet users the chance to nominate a name, and whichever recieved the most votes, would take the title and bestow the fancy ship.

There were genuine names offered like Shackleton, Endeavour, Falcon, ect., but the internet wanted none of that. The internet chose to get behind a different name. A name that I believe truly fits this ship's prestige

That's right, you guessed it, "R.S.S. Boaty McBoatface".

The voting is not even close as Boaty McBoatface is the clear winner and no other name could possibly catch up.

No word yet on if the agency will follow through and actually give their vessel this hilarious name, but it's not looking good. Their voting website has mysteriously "crashed" and has been down for quite some time.

We have heard from the guy who volunteered the amazing name, Mr. James Hand.

Bravo Mr. Hand, bravo.
