The #318Rocks! project is a grassroots community wide arts project started by local Artists & fellow Mom's Mimi Rankin Webb, Heather Blue Steele and Debbie Lynn Hollis and is designed to promote positivity, create a stronger sense of community and provide an arts outlet to areas of our community previously thought to be an arts void.

Schools are starting to cut more and more out of their art programs so this is also a fun way to get kids back into arts and crafts! It's very simple people are finding rocks and bringing them to life through art with faces or designs and then using modge podge or a clear coat for a glossy finish. After painting the rocks they're spreading them out all over the area in places people will see them giving it a sort of easter egg hunt style.

The group is hoping this catches on and other people around the area start doing it as well! Kids who never thought they could even draw suddenly are finding a creative outlet to easily and economically express themselves without having to ask parents for supplies that will break the bank.  This project is providing an easy way for neighbors to meet neighbors, families to sit down together and chat over painting.

July 30th the group "Shreveport-Bossier Mom's in the Know" is planning to bring the community together for a paint day at the South Bossier Farmers Market and all are invited!
