As a tatted up man, this study has renewed my faith in humanity.

I remember not too long ago, getting tattoos meant you'd never be successful and wouldn't be able to find a decent job.

I remember the horror stories of people convincing me to not get tattoos because it shows bad character and no one would take me serious.

Well who's laughing now? Me and my Nike swoosh tattoos, that's who.

PR Newswire released a study that basically shows America is finally coming around to tattoos.

Here's what the study found:

82% of Americans say that having a tattoo isn't a, quote, "rebellious act" any more.

72% say it's more acceptable to have visible tattoos now than it was 10 years ago.

59% of people think that in 10 years, most companies won't care about employees having visible tattoos at work.

67% of parents would take their kid to get a tattoo on their 18th birthday if they wanted one.

40% say a person's tattoos say more about them than their Facebook profile.
