"American Idol" alum Adam Lambert confirmed Friday that he will take over as frontman for Queen when the band embarks on its summer tour.

This won't be the first time that he and Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor have worked together; the three performed on the 2009 "Idol" finale, as well as at the MTV European Music Awards in November.

Lambert told Britain's Daily Star, "The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f------ great songs. It's to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of."
