Shreveport police say a security officer with the Shreveport Regional Airport has been arrested in connection with the investigation into an on duty shooting.
Back on August 19, 2014, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called out to Shreveport Regional Airport in the 5100 block of Hollywood Avenue relative to a shooting involving a member of the airport's security force.

At almost the exact same time, authorities received a call from a cab driver reporting an airport security officer had shot out one of the tires of his cab. Upon arrival, officers detained the cab driver and contacted airport personnel. Investigators were immediately notified.

Responding detectives discovered there was apparently some sort of dispute between the cab driver and 49-year-old security officer Darryl Dangerfield. As the cab driver allegedly attempted to leave the facility there, Dangerfield fired one shot from his duty weapon striking the vehicle's front passenger side tire. No one was wounded during the incident.

Based on information and evidence gathered during their ongoing inquiry, detectives obtained an arrest warrant today charging Dangerfield with one count of illegal use of a weapon. He was booked into the Caddo Parish Correctional Center with a bond of $1,000.
