Louisiana Tech baseball coach Greg Goff has been hired by the University to take over that school's program. Goff was introduced as the new Crimson Tide boss at a Friday news conference in Tuscaloosa.

Goff, who just completed his second season in Ruston, called coaching at Alabama his dream job.

Goff took over at Louisiana Tech before the 2015 season. The Bulldogs made the NCAA regional this season, his second. It was Tech's first postseason appearance since 1987.

After going 25-27 in his first year, Goff led the 'Dogs to a 42-20 record in 2016 and a berth in the NCAA tournament, where they were eliminated in the second round by Mississippi State.

Goff does have previous experience in the SEC, serving as pitching coach at Kentucky from 1999 to 2003.
