Alec Baldwin attended the funeral of "Sopranos" star James Gandolfini with wife Hilaria Thursday, but the U.K.'s Daily Mail reports that Mrs. Baldwin's Twitter account was active and that she was tweeting during the funeral. Upon seeing the report, Baldwin went on his own Twitter feed and went on a profanity-laced rampage.

Baldwin tweeted, "My wife and I attend a funeral to pay our respects to an old friend, and some toxic Brit writes this f*****g trash." A later tweet called out Daily Mail journalist George Stark, calling him a "toxic little queen" and threatening to "f**k...(him)...up."

Baldwin shut down his page later that day.

A source close to Mrs. Baldwin says that she was only retweeting updates and was not doing any active tweeting during the funeral.

Matthew Hiltzik, who says he still represents Baldwin despite a tweet from the actor saying he had been fired, issued a statement to The Huffington Post which read: "It is disgraceful that this reporter manufactured a story and never called for comment or explanation -- especially when it needlessly diverted attention away from a day to honor the memory of a beloved figure like Mr Gandolfini."
