Two Beaumont residents, Naty Savala and Kristan Wade, were filming a Facebook Live video of the flooding Sunday near Martin Luther King Parkway and Franklin street, when they saw a car drive into the high flood waters of the underpass.

Savala kept the Facebook Live video running as Wade dove in, and swam out to rescue the woman as she became stranded in her car. Wade struggled to convince the woman to open her door as her car continued sinking deeper into the water. She eventually rescued her from the vehicle, and swam her to safety.

This is what heroism looks like, folks.

Remember - DO NOT TRY TO DRIVE THROUGH HIGH WATER. Turn around. Don't drown.
