American Music Award Nominations Announced

British singer-songwriter Adele led the pack as the nominations for the 39th annual American Music Awards were announced Tuesday.

Adele received four nominations, including Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist and Favorite Album for 21.

Trailing her with three nominations each were Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry, Rihanna and The Band Perry. Swift, Lil Wayne, Perry and Lady Gaga also are competing with Adele for Artist of the Year.

The 39th annual AMA's will be held at Nokia Theater in L.A. Nov. 20 and will be telecast live on ABC.
