There was a funeral for Amy Winehouse was held yesterday at a Synagogue in North London. Kelly Osbourne and ‘Black to Black’ producer Mark Ronson were among the 150 people that attended the private funeral. Amy’s dad Mitch gave a touching eulogy that was said to be pretty funny. He talked about fond childhood memories of Amy and ended his speech by saying, ‘Goodnight my angel. Sleep tight. Mommy and daddy love you so much.’ Amy had a Jewish funeral that was considered controversial since she has tattoos and was cremated, both of which is major violations of the Jewish law.

After the funeral, he issued a statement saying she was the happiest she had ever been for years, and they found comfort knowing that she wasn’t depressed when she died. He also said that drugs did not kill Amy because she’s been off them for three years. She was still drinking, but her dad said she had just completed ‘three weeks of abstinence’. They believe she died from a heart attack or fatal seizure.

Amy’s $16 million fortune will be divided up between her family. She cut her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, who was her inspiration for the Back to Black album, out of her will when they split in ’09.

Her dad announced they will be setting up a foundation in Amy’s name to help people that are struggling with addiction.
