Robert Fuller is using the loss of his granddaughter to teach young drivers about safety.

According to KSLA, Fuller's granddaughter Kathleen Harville passed away the summer of 2015 after her car crashed into a storage building off of George Road. She wasn't wearing her seat belt and from what professionals could tell from the crash she didn't use her break making them believe she was distracted.

Now, Robert Fuller is taking to schools to tell his story and inform drivers that they need to be aware and wear their seat belt properly.

I remember having speakers come to my school growing up to tell their story about how they have made mistakes or someone they knew was effected from a car accident that could have been avoided. It impacted me. When you get told the different safety precautions from a slide show or a class lecture it doesn't leave much of an impact, but when you get a first hand story- It stays with you forever.

"I don't want anybody to have to go through what we're having to go through because they didn't think that they'd have to buckle up their seat belt," Fuller told KSLA. "We're not going to let Katie die. Katie is always going to be with us. And when I talk to these young people, it makes me feel like Katie is still with us."

News sources say that he has only spoke at a few schools but wants to reach out to more in the future.
