Shreveport police are trying to identify and catch a man who robbed a local Dollar General store late last night.

Just before 10 p.m., officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the store in the 2800 block of Jewella Avenue. A witness told them a male suspect armed with a handgun suspect busted into the store and demanded money from the clerk. He ran off with an unknown amount of cash. No one was hurt during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a thin-build black male, with his hair in a braided ponytail. He was wearing a black t-shirt, dark jeans with one of the pants legs tucked into his sock, and a white bandana covering part of his face.
