LSU basketball player Wayde Sims was murdered earlier this week in Baton Rouge. The University, community, and state of Louisiana have been dealing with the tragedy in various ways, from press conferences to vigils, and a moment of silence planned at tonight's LSU football game at Tigers Stadium.

But while the community has been dealing with the murder in those ways, the Baton Rouge Police Department has been dealing with it in the only way they know how. They've been pursuing suspects, and making an arrest.

This morning, police arrested 20-year-old Dyteon Simpson of Baker, Louisiana in connection with the murder of Sims.

Simpson was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count of second degree murder. According to information obtained by The Advocate, Simpson has admitted to shooting Sims.

The bond set for Simpson was set at $350,000, and the case will be sent to a grand jury.
