Avril Lavigne Engaged To Nickelback Singer

It's the union no one saw coming because the very thought was just too frightening!

Sources reveal that punk-pop princess Avril Lavigne and Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger are engaged to be married, which would form a Canadian vortex of "meh" the likes of which has never been achieved.

Apparently the two have quietly been dating for the past six months, starting when Kroeger worked on Lavigne's latest album. The two were engaged Aug. 8, when Kroeger presented Lavigne with a 14-carat diamond ring that was not purchased at Wal-Mart.

Lavigne was previously married to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley. This will be Kroeger's first marriage. Mazel tov...or something.
