[UPDATE] Gia Allemand has passed away following. She was 29.

According to a report from TMZ, the former star of "The Bachelor" died in a New Orleans hospital.

Her boyfriend, New Orleans Pelicans star Ryan Anderson, reportedly found her unresponsive on Monday (August 12) and called 911.

[Original Story] Gia Allemand, a contestant on the fourteenth season of "The Bachelor", was taken to University Hospital in New Orleans Monday following an unspecified emergency medical event and is in critical condition, according to a rep for the reality star.

Allemand's mother is by her side, along with longtime boyfriend, NBA star Ryan Anderson of the New Orleans Pelicans.

Her friend, health and beauty expert Melinda Farina, tweeted shortly after the family's announcement, "@GiaAllemand is on life support w little pulse and barely breathing ..cause unknown ..next 48 hours critical please pray for Gia everyone."

Her rep later sent a tweet which read, "Understand everyone has questions about #GiaAllemand - another statement is pending for tomorrow...Prayers pls."
