Rihanna has been lauded for her singing, dancing and modeling. Now the multi-talented, newly inked hottie is being praised for her acting ability. RiRi’s ‘Battleship‘ director, Peter Berg, showered the starlet with compliments in a recent interview. “I’ve worked with musicians before and I always expected there was a great actress in Rihanna,” Berg said. “That’s just from watching her intensity and how hot she is in her music videos. For anyone that’s been on a music video set, it’s not so easy to do sexy,” Berg continued. “If it was, there would be a lot more Rihannas.” You better believe there’s only one Ri!

Rihanna plays a navy weapons officer in the movie and previously discussed the work she put into the character, which she based on a real person. “We had this bada– chick on set. Her name is Jackie,” Rihanna said. “She’s also in the Navy. I was playing what she really does in real life. She was all tatted up, and I just looked at her and I was like, ‘You are Raikes!’ I watched her, and I just lived and breathed in her mindset and tried to get into her character.”

Berg also revealed that despite being one of the most famous women on the planet, Rihanna was not a diva on set at all. “Rihanna lived in this small really unglamorous hotel room for four months,” he said. “It was really hot, there was nothing but really bad fried food.” Fried food, eh? Good thing she works out! “She had no entourage, she shared the same little trailer as everyone else did.”

‘Battleship’ is Rihanna’s second movie. She previously appeared in the straight-to-DVD cheerleading film ‘Bring It On: All or Nothing’ in 2006. Her oceanic extraterrestrial flick hits theaters in April, costarring Taylor Kitsch and Liam Neeson.

Aside from her ‘Battleship’ role, does Berg see a film future for the ‘We Found Love’ singer? You bet. “’Battleship’ is a small role but she does a great job in it,” Berg said. “If she wants to be a huge movie star then in a year you’ll be sitting here with her talking about whatever her next film is.”
