Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner may no longer be a couple, but they've remained on good terms since their split and recent comments from Affleck reaffirm the affection felt between the former pair.

The Live By Night actor spoke about his personal life during a Times Talk at the NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts last night (December 12).

When asked to name the most defining moment in his life, Affleck didn’t mention any of the films he’s made or accolades he’s received over the span of his career. Instead, he focused on his family.

“In my career or otherwise, it is the birth of my children,” he said via PEOPLE. “The entrance of my children into the world."

He then referred to his ex-wife Garner as the “world’s greatest mom,” before continuing to praise his family.

“It’s a joy to hang out with them,” he said. “I think the meaning of life is to make good people.”

Affleck also opened up about the widely panned movie he made with another ex, Jennifer Lopez, saying there was a heightened sense of scrutiny surrounding Gigli because of their offscreen relationship.

"It could have been a bad movie no one cared about,” he said. “Angelina Jolie had a bad movie that year and no one cared. But it was because I was dating Jennifer Lopez that made it a big f—king deal. So not only was it just a bad movie but ‘they dated each other.’”

He continued, recalling the media's overblown reporting on the film's poor box office performance.

"There was a reporter doing stand-up in front of the theater that Friday morning, [saying] ‘Here I am outside of Gigli, and as you can see, no one is here in line,’” Affleck said. "I was like, ‘What is this, hurricane coverage?’”
