UPDATE: Body Found Behind Shreveport Hotel Was Suicide Victim
UPDATE: Shreveport Police say the man whose body was found behind Motel 6 this morning shot himself.
Sgt. Rod Johnson tells KEEL News 54-year-old James Johns died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Two other people were present when Johns shot himself while in the hotel's parking lot.
ORIGINAL STORY: Police are investigating a body found behind a local hotel this morning.
What we know so far is that the body was located behind the Motel 6 at Greenwood Road and West Bert Kouns. The incident was reported as a shooting at 9:40 this morning.
LaMark Carter, owner of ProElite Performance Center on Greenwood Road, said he arrived at 5:30 this morning to open the business, and didn't notice anything unusual. When he came back at 9:30, he saw police cars and the covered body behind the motel.
We're not hearing the incident could have possibly been a suicide.
