A fire in Bossier City this morning damaged a single-story brick house.

The call came in just before 9 a.m. from the 2200 block of Middle Creek Blvd. When the first units arrived, they found smoke coming from the back of the house. Once they got inside, firefighters found flames near the center of the house in the living room.

The blaze was brought under control in about 10 minutes and firefighters managed to keep it contained to the living room.

Firefighters also rescued two pets, a prairie dog and a lizard. No people were at home at the time. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
