Bossier City, LA Featured In Food Network’s Food Court Wars
Last October, I got a random email from a girl who knew a friend of mine from college. She wanted to know if they could partner with our radio stations when they shot an episode of Food Court Wars hosted by Tyler Florence right here in Bossier City, LA, proving what a small world it truly is! I can't tell you how many confidentiality agreements and location agreements I've signed since then! This turned out to be a really big deal. I've wanted to talk about it for a while and now I finally can because the episode we were a part of finally aired last night, Sunday, April 6th on Food Network.
Food Court Wars came in to town and pit friends JB Emery and Brandi Lewis from Bistro to Go against the father/daughter team of Thomas 'Pat' Dillahunty and Stephanie Gafford from Southern Traditions. My job was to do a radio interview supporting the winner of one of the challenges... to give them an edge a the final tasting and competition at Pierre Bossier Mall Saturday, January 25, 2014.
By now, if you're a fan of the show, you've figured out that Bistro to Go, who already had a location on Line Avenue in Shreveport, won the first challenge and came into to be interviewed. Not only did we have a blast, they also shared their fantastic bread pudding! It truly is a taste of heaven!
Listen to our interview here:
After all was said and done, Bistro to Go was crowned the winner and now how has a new location opening soon at Pierre Bossier Mall complete with free rent for a year thanks to Food Court Wars officially making them a multi location business. After tasting their bread pudding, I can tell you, they totally deserve it!
On a personal note, shooting this with Food Court Wars was bittersweet. As we shot it, I knew that by the time it aired, I would no longer be on the air at K945. Since then, I've made the switch to 96.5 KVKI and the fabulous Jess is now hosting afternoons on K945. Even though she wasn't on the air yet, she stayed for the filming (and bread pudding) and went to Pierre Bossier Mall for the public tasting where she got to meet star and host of the show, Tyler Florence!
