Purple Up Day is next Saturday but because of Easter Bossier Schools celebrated it a little early. This is a day where we celebrate/recognize Military Children and families for the sacrifice they make so that our country can be protected by their parents. They use the color purple because it is a combination of Army green, Marine red, and Coast Guard, Air Force and Navy blue.

This was started in 2011 in New Hampshire and has spread across the country. Being that we have Barksdale in our backyard which means military families are all over the area this day has really taken off in the SBC!

This past Friday Bossier Schools celebrated the day early with ceremonies and a parade thru the halls. Check out the video below..
