The Bossier Sheriff's Office's longest-serving deputy is retiring after 34 years of service.

Rawls started with the department on April 15, 1981, and has served in Corrections, Patrol and Detectives divisions. His last day of work is Thursday, April 30.

He and his co-workers will get together at 1PM at the Criminal Building at 196 Burt Blvd. in Benton, near the Bossier Parish Courthouse.

Lt. Bill Davis says in a news release that Roy is one of the most well-liked and well-known deputies serving with the BSO.
