With a $300,000 donation from BHP Billiton, Bossier Parish Community College will expand the learning center on campus.

Bossier Parish Community College received a three-year $300,000 donation from BHP Billiton. That money will go toward expanding the learning center. The library will also be renamed the BHP Billiton Learning Commons.

BPCC plans on purchasing 200 computers for students to use. Currently, there are 65 student-use computers. In addition, renovations will include a meeting and presentation room on the first floor.

The second floor will offer individual study areas for students with computers. Tutoring rooms will also be available.

Other amenities include a scan and print station, as well as wireless networking.

The first floor is expected to be cleared out immediately while major construction will be done during the holidays.
