TMZ.com reports that Britney Spears is leaving "The X Factor" after Season 2. Sources say she loves the show but wants to get back to working on her eighth album and a possible tour.

"Britney loves Simon, she likes Demi Lovato, but her thing is music," said a source to TMZ.

Spears is the second judge to leave the show; L.A. Reid announced that he would not be returning for a third season back in December.

Others, including The Hollywood Reporter, suggest that Spears was anticpating that she would not be asked back for another season, therefore she announced her resignation. But during a press panel on Tuesday, Fox Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly said, "I actually thought it went very, very well," adding that Fox would be on board with having her return next season.
