Louisiana is a unique, weird place unlike anywhere else on the planet, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Here are five of the best (and worst) things about us.
The majority of Hollywood’s biggest franchises have already been supplied with ample amounts of queer characters, thanks to comic book writers and novelists. Marvel Comics has featured at least 25 characters who’ve been revealed as openly lesbian, gay, bisexual, or gender non-conforming, while DC Comics has had at least 12 out LGBTQ superheroes and villains. This is all James Gunn’s fault. The writer/director of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise left so many plot threads dangling in the first movie. Who was Peter Quill’s dad? What was the deal with Yondu? What was Thanos up to next? Would any other Guardians from the original Marvel comics show up? I mean, what did he expect the internet to do? Not spend the next three years speculating wildly (and mostly inaccurately) about his plans? Yeah no.
Louisiana is famous for a lot of things, but there are a few that stand out...culture and food. In fact, when you think about food here in Louisiana, there a A LOT of restaurants that come to mind. But did you know that some of these restaurants are family-owned and have been for many years?!
The calendar may have four seasons, but Hollywood’s calendar only really has two at this point: summer and awards, and summer seems to last longer and longer ever year. Though the start of May has long been the unofficial kickoff of the S.M.S., 2017 has already seen a King Kong movie, a ghost in a shell, and the fate of Fast & Furious franchise. The change from April to May is something of a formality in 2017. Once the Oscars are over, the summer begins.
