Cee Lo Tweets = Trouble

Cee Lo Green opened for Rihanna in Minneapolis last week and a music journalist wasn’t too thrilled with his performance. When Cee Lo heard of the criticism, he tweeted, ‘I respect your criticism, but be fair! People enjoyed last night! I’m guessing you’re gay? And my masculinity offended you? Well {forget} you!’ But the journalist wasn’t even a gay man, just an opinionated woman.

Now he’s back peddling, telling Us Weekly that he meant the tweet to be all in good fun, saying ‘I always expect people to assume that everything I do is part of my character and sense of humor’.

He kind of apologized on twitter, saying ‘Apologies gay community! What was homophobic about that? I said I was guessing he was gay which is fine but it’s nice to know what you think of me.’
