After Black Friday, comes Small Business Saturday. The day is meant to generate sales at local small businesses who may not be able to compete with the door buster deals we expect on Black Friday. That does not mean that you cannot find a great deal on Small Business Saturday. There are several businesses in the Shreveport-Bossier area that are participating in the shopping event.

If you are not sure of where to go this Saturday, the city of Shreveport invites you to the Red River District. Saturday from 10 am to 3pm you will be able to shop local small businesses on the riverfront.

SPAR Event Coordinator, Marissa Carbine described the event. “It’s becoming tradition for shoppers to take the day after Black Friday as a time to shift gears, slow down, and shop small. This event celebrates Shreveport’s local small businesses, giving shoppers an opportunity to keep our holiday dollars within our own community.”

This is the third year that the city of Shreveport has celebrated Small Business Saturday at the Red River District, so what can shoppers expect this year? There will be shopping and entertainment. Among the entertainment you will see stilt-walkers, hula-hoopers and enjoy the sounds of live music. The event is fun for the entire family, the kids will enjoy many activities and including bounce houses and creating art projects. These are just a few of the things that will entertain you. On the shopping side, you can shop for hand crafted jewelry, home decor and much more.

This is one event that you do not want to miss. Make plans to attend Small Business Saturday at the Red River District and give back to the community.
