Centurylink, headquartered in Monroe, announced the latest round of their Clarke M. Williams Foundation Teachers and Technology grant program recipients.  The massive communication company provides internet and television to residents in 37 states and, since 2008, they have also provided close to $11 million in grants for bring the cutting edge of technology to the classroom.  In total, 330 projects aimed at teaching STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) subjects have been funded by the program.

Luckily for us, several Louisiana schools will benefit from the program this year!  According to myarklamiss.com, 14 schools in the Bayou State will split more than $67,000 in grants this year.  The grants are based on the over 1,600 proposals sent in outlining what K-12 teachers would do with the funds.  The recipients are chosen based on "the impact they will have on students in the classroom and the overall innovation of the project."
