Singer Chris Brown has checked himself into a rehab facility for anger management, one day after appearing in court for an assault charge an altercation last weekend in Washington, D.C.

"Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility," a rep for Brown told E! News Tuesday, "His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point."

Brown is still on probation for his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna, and if convicted is looking at 180 days in jail and a $1000 fine.

Brown is accused of punching Parker Isaac Adams when he tried to photobomb Brown with two female fans.
