Each year, CHRISTUS Health Shreveport-Bossier holds a reunion for its "miracle babies."

These are people who have overcome the odds of prematurity in the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This will be the 37th annual reunion for the nurses, physicians, parents and patients. More than 100 people, ranging from a few months to their mid-20's, will pack the hospital's atrium for the event.

The NICU alumni and their families will visit with the nurses, doctors and other clinical staff who helped them survive prematurity, developmental difficulties and critical illness at birth. They'll also scour scrapbooks and play carnival games.

The reunion runs from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 19, in the Highland Atrium, located at CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center at 1453 E. Bert Kouns in Shreveport.
