Of course, we send our congratulations out to all of the Miss Louisiana contestants. After all, just to be there is a huge honor! I, for one, have always held the belief that the reason Miss America is generally from the South, is that Southern girls have a certain je ne sais quoi. It's an 'it' factor... and the contestants this year had it in spades! I've been following the path of Lauren Vizza aka Miss Monroe (Find out more here at Meet Miss Monroe - Lauren Vizza) ever since I was invited to participate in her mock interview to prepare for the Miss Louisiana pageant. I met an (obviously) beautiful, civic-minded young woman who was well spoken and had a good head on her shoulders. The fact she's into horses was a bonus:) The week before the pageant, I posted a preview of all the contestants (Miss Louisiana Is Almost Here (VIDEO)) As you can tell, there was a lot of talent at the pageant this past Saturday night where Miss Spirit of Ruston Hope Anderson was crowned Miss Louisiana 2011. First runner-up was Miss Lafayette Carley McCord, second runner-up was Miss Capital City Andrea Sonnier, third runner-up was Miss Holiday in Dixie Mallory Cox followed by fourth runner-up Lauren Vizza.
