[UPDATE] Woman Wanted for Cashing $2K in Worthless Checks Turns Herself In
[UPDATE] The female suspect wanted for issuing worthless checks at various grocery stores in our area has turned herself in.
Bossier City police say 30-year-old Laquesha Burks is charged with three counts of monetary instrument abuse and faces additional charges at other agencies.
Detectives are still searching for Burks' accomplice, identified as 31-year-old Joseph McDonald of Minden. Call Bossier Crime Stoppers if you know where he is.
[ORIGINAL STORY] The Bossier Financial Crimes Task Force needs your help identifying two people involved in fraudulent check-cashing.
Surveillance video from grocery stores in Bossier City and Benton, as well as Caddo, Claiborne and DeSoto Parishes, shows a man and a woman using worthless checks from October 20-23. They've mainly purchased beer and cigarettes with the checks, totaling nearly $2,000.
Bossier sheriff's detectives believe the couple is driving a red Chevrolet HHR or Chrysler PT Cruiser-type vehicle. If you know who these people are, call Bossier Crime Stoppers at 318-424-4100, or submit a tip online.
