Dallas Cowboys Sign Michael Sam to Practice Squad

The Dallas Cowboys need help rushing the passer... and Michael Sam may be the answer.

Defensive end Michael Sam, the NFL’s first openly gay player, was cut on Saturday by theSt. LouisRams.. the team that drafted him.

Sam is getting his second chance… courtesy of the Dallas Cowboys.

Sam has passed his physical and today will be signed to the Cowboys practice squad.  He likely will not be part of the Cowboys active roster in Sunday’s game versus the 49ers.

The Cowboys need help on the defensive line rushing the passer.  Sam could provide that help.

Sam could be signed away from the Cowboys practice squad by another team, but that team would have to put him on their active roster a minimum of four weeks.
