Dating App Bans Photos of Guns

According to Cosmopolitan, Bumble is now banning all photos across their dating app.

I remember using the app when I was single and noticed that guys I saw on the app had either guns or fish in their hands to make them look "sporty" or "outdoorsy" or my favorite "my hobby is running". No one runs for a hobby! To be real, I wasn't looking for an outdoorsy guy or a runner so I would just swipe left.

Cosmopolitan also reported that the app's "CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd told The New York Times that the app will now handle photos of guns the way it handles photos of nudity or hate speech."

Apparently the app will use moderators who will look through new and existing profiles to find and remove photos that have "guns or other dangerous weapons, like knives" says Cosmopolitan.

Along with the photo ban the company will be donating $100,000 to March For Our Lives. Which if you are unfamiliar with March For Our Lives it is the organization started by Parkland survivors responsible for planning the nationwide marches on March 24 with a few happening right here in our area.

Will we see other dating apps follow Bumble's lead on this stance for safety? What do you think about this?
