Disclosure: “Sam Smith is Not a Girl?” [VIDEO]

Billboard takes us behind the scenes of Disclosure’s cover shoot. Did they really think Sam Smith was a woman?

Disclosure graces the cover of the new issue of Billboard magazine. Brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence have burst into the music scene with their hit “Latch” featuring Sam Smith. They had heard Smith’s song “Lay Me Down” and fell in love with the voice.

Upon meeting Smith to collaborate, they were surprised to find that he is a man. Smith’s high falsetto led Disclosure to believe that Smith was a woman.

However, it didn’t change their decision to put Smith on the record. Watch the video to find out where Disclosure sees themselves in five years.

Listen to Sam Smith’s “Lay Me Down.” Does he sound like a girl to you?
