According to KETV, more than 60 dogs have been moved to Omaha, Nebraska from a Ouachita Parish, LA shelter that has taken in 500 dogs since the first of January.

"We take them and we build their confidence back up knowing they are going to go to a home that's loving," Janet Breitkreutz of Wonder Weims Rescue told KETV.

The dogs were taken from West Monroe Louisiana in hopes of finding a new home and a new life. 8 different organizations have stepped up to help out the animals coming to Nebraska.

If you are planning on going to Omaha, Nebraska this weekend, there will be a fundraiser this Saturday 1 p.m. to 3 p.m at Vino Mas, located at 14450 Eagle Run Drive. The fundraiser is $20 per person and the proceeds will go to help the rescue efforts.
