As Drake pushes towards the finish line with Views From the 6, a bit of insight on the rapper's recording process has come to light thanks to OVO signees Majid Jordan. While sitting down with Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning, the singers/songwriters/producers revealed that they came up with Drake's "Hold On We're Going Home," what would be the second single off his third studio album Nothing Was the Same, after camping out in the studio.

When asked if it was difficult relinquishing the rights to the song, the duo answered, "The song wasn’t something we just had ready and prepared and they heard. We got back to Toronto and they were just starting the beginnings of Nothing was the Same, in 2013. They basically put us in the studio and it was like a studio camp, almost, there were tents in there. There were people flying in there... There were tents in the studio. I slept in a tent in the studio."

The process sounds grueling, but for an up-and-coming act, it's likely worth it to collaborate with Drake and kickstart a career. With the release of "Summer Sixteen," Drake announced that Views will be dropping sometime in April. In January, Drake's in-house producer Noah “40” Shebib offered a hint as to the album's status, posting an image of a computer folder titled "Views" to Instagram.

As "Hotline Bling" continues to breathe new life, being featured in an upcoming T-Mobile Super Bowl ad, there's little pressure for Drake to tip his hand or release anything other than promo tracks, what "Summer Sixteen" will likely add up to being. With the NBA All Star Weekend in Toronto coming up, there's always the chance that Drizzy drops a bombshell to get his city going. For the meantime though, fans will have to imagine OVO campfires and ghost stories, and the flames of some tent-inspired recording session.
