E! News anchor Giuliana Rancic announced Monday on the "Today" show that she is battling breast cancer.

Rancic revealed that she discovered she had the disease during her third attempt to conceive a child, adding, "It's been a shock. A lot of people have been asking, we saw that you went and got IVF, are you pregnant? But sadly, we've had to put that off."

Rancic will undergo surgery later this week, but says she will continue trying to have a child. "I still want this baby ... because this baby has saved my life," she said.
