Krewe of Elders

The Krewe of Elders is a Mardi Gras non-profit incorporated organization for Senior Citizens 50 and older. The Krewe was formed 1998. The Krewes function is to help those on fixed incomes to be part of the fun and excitement that Mardi Gras brings to our area. We presently have 136 members and are growing.

During the Mardi Gras season we visit elderly nursing homes, children's hospitals, and veterans hospitals. In order to keep our Krewe going we have fund raisers that include cook outs, fish fries, barbecues and dances. We have a Coronation Ball and a Grand Ball. All the members have the choice to ride on the floats in the parade. A float fee is required and riders must purchase beads to throw.

New members are always welcomed. A wonderful way to get out and meet lots of new people and have fun. For all those that are young at heart and just want to have good time, come on out and join. Let the good times Roll! Laissez les bon temps rouler! For more information call Jay Prudhomme at 318-635-4901 or email jprudhomme@bellsouth.net
See what a fun loving Krewe we have! This is why it truly is (Nifty to be 50!) What are you waiting for? Join today!
