Top rising stars in women’s golf to compete for $100,000 total purse in
El Dorado, Arkansas; the only Symetra Tour stop in the four-state region of
Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.

Murphy USA is excited to once again bring the Symetra Tour, recognized as ‘Road to the LPGA,’ to southern Arkansas. Presented by Murphy USA and PepsiCo, the event will be held at the prestigious Mystic Creek Golf Club in El Dorado, Arkansas from September 15 through September 17.

This marks the third year that Murphy USA and the El Dorado community will host the 54-hole stroke play format event, which was recognized as first runner-up for 2016 Sporting Event of the Year by the Arkansas Festivals & Events Association. First-round play will begin on Friday, September 15 with the final round scheduled for Sunday, September 17. Numerous events will occur throughout the week leading into the tournament, including Pro-Am scrambles on Wednesday and Thursday where Symetra Tour professionals will compete alongside various sponsors and guests.

Following last year’s success, the Junior Clinic will return to tournament-week festivities. The clinic, sponsored by Colliers International, will be held at Mystic Creek Golf Club and is scheduled for Sunday, September 10 from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. Symetra Tour members and PGA teaching professionals will highlight basic techniques and share favorite tips. Youth ages six to eighteen are invited to participate free of charge. Children may pre-register online at http://eldoradoshootout.com/schedule/junior-clinic/. On-site registration will also be available September 10 at Mystic Creek from 1:15 - 1:45 p.m.

With a 12-player increase over last year, the 132-player field is comprised of the top aspiring female professional golfers from around the world – all competing for the $100,000 total purse. The winner will earn $15,000 and take a significant step towards obtaining their LPGA Tour Card for the 2018 season. The top 10 players on the year-end Volvik Race for the Card money list receive their full-time LPGA Tour Cards for the following season. Symetra Tour players have gone on to win 422 LPGA Tour events, including 46 major championships.

Thanks to First Financial Bank, our General Admission Sponsor, admission is free all three days of the tournament.

Mystic Creek Golf Club was designed by acclaimed golf architect Ken Dye. The par-72 course with its Champion Bermuda greens and Celebration Bermuda fairways is considered challenging. 2016 El Dorado Shootout winner Madelene Sagstrom stated after her win last year, “We had a great test this week at Mystic Creek. It was a golf course that really, really demanded a lot of good shots. This course, if you hit in the wrong spot, you can feel really punished.”

The event will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of El Dorado, whose mission is to inspire and enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. As a non-profit charitable corporation, it fills the gap between school and home, providing a welcoming, positive environment in which kids and teens can have fun. Boys & Girls Club of El Dorado allows children to participate in life-changing programs, and build a supportive relationship with peers and caring adults.

“The Boys & Girls Club of El Dorado is an outstanding organization that is an asset to the children of our community. They have changed the lives of the children with whom they work through their educational programs, sports activities, and mentorship. We are pleased to spotlight the Boys & Girls Clubs of El Dorado during this year’s Tournament,” explained Murphy USA CEO, Andrew Clyde.
