FBI agents raided the Sheriff's office in Tangipahoa Parish. The officers seized materials from several offices as they served a search warrant.

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Danny Edwards said nothing as he left his office Thursday afternoon.

The raid began in the morning and continued throughout the afternoon. FBI agents said they were working in partnership with the DEA's Office of Professional Responsibility. He said the searches were conducted with approval from the court.

"Those actions are continuing and ongoing, with many more investigative actions to take place," said FBI New Orleans Special Agent in Charge Jeff Sallet.

The investigation appears to stem from the actions of a special drug task force.

The operation is large-scale and the FBI has indicated there will be more raids.
