It's been a tumultuous journey for Rhonda A. Lee, the Shreveport meteorologist who was fired from KTBS for responding to racially-charged remarks on Facebook. But Lee is ready for a new chapter to begin.

Lee announced on her Facebook page that she has accepted a job with Weather Nation TV, a national broadcast network founded in 2008. The meteorologist will be moving to Denver, Colorado.

The move is bittersweet for Lee, who said it won't be easy leaving the Ark-La-Tex after three years of building a life here.

Lee was fired by Shreveport-based TV network KTBS in 2012 after she engaged in a conversation on Facebook with a viewer who addressed her as "the black lady that does the news" and criticized her short hair style.

According to the network, Lee was fired for "continuing to violate company procedure" in regard to responding to negative feedback on social media.

In June 2014, Lee filed a lawsuit against KTBS, alleging racial discrimination was the chief motivating factor behind her firing.
