Northwestern State invites you to join in on the competition.

We've seen the dragon boat races in Shreveport, now Northwestern State is hosting a slice of the action in Natchitoches. The University Foundation has teamed up with the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center Foundation to host the first-ever dragon boat races on May 28. The event will take place on Cane River, complete with a festival-like atmosphere with vendors, bands and more.

And it's free for all spectators.

Want to sign up your team? Registration is currently open through May 25 at NorthwesternAlumni.com in the "Events" section. You must have 20 paddlers and at least eight of them must be female and one must be a drummer. A helmsman will be provided to each team.

Each team will be allotted one team practice the week of the races.

Care to be a sponsor? Those packages are available as well at NorthwesternAlumni.com. You can also call Erikson for more information at 318-357-4415.
