We just made your lunch plans for Wednesday.

This Wednesday (April 6), forget the boring, soggy sandwich you usually pack for lunch. Instead head over to the Gingerbread House for their Food Truck Throwdown: Knocking Out Child Abuse One Meal at a Time. Enjoy food served from some of our favorite local food trucks, Some Like It Hot and BeauxJax Mobile Cajun Eatery. They also happen to be the title sponsors of the event.

Lunch will be sold between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in front of the Gingerbread House, located at 1700 Buckner Square in Shreveport.

In addition to lunch, T-shirts will be sold for $10 each, with all proceeds going toward the Gingerbread House to aid in their mission of ending child abuse. As a part of their prevention efforts, 303 outreach activities impacting 21,524 individuals were conducted last year alone. All services are provided free of charge.

It's the perfect way to kick of Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month.
