Former New Orleans Saint Cornerback Tracey Porter has been arrested in Baton Rouge on drug and domestic battery charges. According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the victim allegedly went to see Porter to get her keys back. The encounter turned heated and then got physical.

Sgt. Don Coppola from the BRPD says that Porter allegedly grabbed the woman by her arm and neck and left multiple bruises. Coppolla says the victim and 31-year-old Porter had been in a relationship over the past couple of years. He says Porter did admit to grabbing her.

Coppola did add that Porter alleges that the female initiated the argument and the physicality and that Porter told police he was just trying to protect himself. During the investigation, Porter was found to be in possession of numerous pain pills that he did not have a prescription for. He also was busted with marijuana and other drug paraphernalia, including a grinder, and a 9mm pistol.

Porter was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute Acetaminophen, possession of a fire arm with a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and battery of a dating partner.

Porter is a hero in New Orleans. He famously picked off Peyton Manning for a 74 yard touchdown in the 2010 Super Bowl to seal the game for the Saints. He was released by the Chicago Bears earlier this year.
