Looks like the Seattle Seahawks weren't the only ones who had a sucky Super Bowl weekend.
E! News reports that former NFL star Warren Sapp was arrested early Monday in Phoenix, AZ for soliciting a prostitute and assault. Sapp was in Phoenix covering the Super Bowl for the NFL Network.

Police report that a female called authorities to allege that she had been assaulted at a Phoenix hotel after an argument with Sapp over money turned violent. Sapp was detained and questioned, during which he admitted his involvement in the act of prostitution, but denied assaulting anyone at the scene.

He was then transported to the Maricopa County Jail where he was booked on charges of soliciting prostitution and two counts of assault.

The NFL Network later announced that they have terminated Sapp's contract.

This is not Sapp's first brush with the law; he was previously arrested for domestic battery in 2010, but those charges were later dropped. He was also arrested for domestic battery in Miami in 2014.

Sapp led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a Super Bowl victory in 2002 against the Oakland Raiders, who he ended up signing with the following season. He retired from football in 2008, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.
