Sources are telling The Hollywood Reporter that Fox has entered negotiations to turn Marvel's iconic comic series "X-Men" into a weekly live-action TV show.

The potential series will be produced by former "24" producers Evan Katz and Manny Coto, and a script is being penned by "Star Trek 3" writing pair Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne.

If all goes as planned, the new "X-Men" show will join such comic-book-to-TV adaptations as Fox's "Gotham", ABC's "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "Agent Carter", the CW's "Arrow" and "The Flash", and CBS's upcoming "Supergirl", set to debut sometime next season.
